Basic Info

XOCEAN delivers full scope ocean data to support critical offshore decisions, providing a faster, more flexible and more efficient alternative to traditional survey approaches.

Why work with us

XOCEAN is a global ocean data delivery partner delivering full-scope ocean data to support offshore developments and operations. We take responsibility for delivering geophysical, geotechnical and environmental data across the full lifecycle of offshore assets, from early-stage development through to long-term operations.

XOCEAN transforms ocean data delivery through a digitally integrated operating model that connects data acquisition, remote operations and processing into a single, scalable system. This enables faster delivery, greater flexibility and more efficient execution across a wide range of offshore environments and project requirements.

By combining our own capabilities with specialist partners, XOCEAN delivers full-scope ocean data while optimising every project for performance, efficiency and reliability. This enables clients to reduce complexity, accelerate project timelines and achieve predictable, high-quality outcomes through a single delivery partner.

Operating across more than 20 international markets, XOCEAN supports leading offshore operators and infrastructure developers, including bp, Shell, Equinor, TotalEnergies, Ørsted, RWE, SSE Renewables, National Grid and Vattenfall, as well as government agencies such as NOAA, the UK Hydrographic Office, the Australian Hydrographic Office and the Canadian Hydrographic Service.

Geophysical Survey along 420km export cable route I Ossian Floating Offshore Wind Farm

Geophysical Survey along 420km export cable route I Ossian Floating Offshore Wind Farm

-

XOCEAN successfully completed a detailed geophysical survey along the 420km export cable route for the proposed Ossian floating offshore wind farm in the North Sea. Despite 11 named storms over 13 months, the survey gathered crucial data from the shoreline to depths of over 100m, supporting route selection and Environmental Impact Assessment work. Conducted using uncrewed survey vessels (USVs), the survey marked a significant milestone for Ossian, a joint venture between SSE Renewables, Marubeni and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Ossian Engineering Manager Laurent Domergue said: "The completion of the XOCEAN survey is a huge milestone in progressing towards selection of the most feasible route for our offshore export cables. The campaign has delivered information vital to understanding seabed characteristics, habitats and the geology of the offshore export cable route."

Enhancing offshore wind construction timelines I Ocean Winds - Moray West Offshore Wind Farm

Enhancing offshore wind construction timelines I Ocean Winds - Moray West Offshore Wind Farm

-

XOCEAN’s cutting-edge uncrewed survey vessels helped Ocean Winds keep the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm on schedule, delivering fast, precise seabed data to accelerate construction. Developed by Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDPR and ENGIE, the 882MW project will generate enough electricity to power over 1.33 million homes. From March to August 2024, XOCEAN delivered critical seabed data between construction phases using USVs operating remotely via satellite. Surveys were completed in four phases, meeting strict delivery milestones and ensuring uninterrupted construction phasing. The phased approach also provided insights into sediment dynamics, supporting proactive decision-making. The project showcases how USV technology can safely, efficiently and cost-effectively support offshore wind construction while integrating seamlessly with existing marine operations.
