Mindseed worked with Davra to secure €1m in development co-funding

DCU Satcom IoT Maker Space

-

Dublin City University, in partnership with Mindseed, launched the Satcom IoT Maker Space to foster innovation in Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications using satellite communications. Located at DCU Alpha, the University’s Innovation Campus, this Maker Space provided a platform for rapid prototyping and testing of design ideas from diverse participants, including students, engineers, academics, and artists. Supported by €500,000 in funding from the European Space Agency (ESA) Business Applications programme, the eighteen-month project published ten design challenges, encouraging solutions from individuals, teams, and companies. Each selected project received up to €30,000 in funding. The initiative aimed to establish at least one ongoing engagement between the selected participants and ESA. Exceeding expectations, six out of ten participants went on to work further with ESA, highlighting the project’s success in expanding ESA’s network and collaborations
