Basic Info

Situated in the heart of Georgian Dublin, EGG was founded in 2004 as a boutique picture post house by editors Gary Shortall and Gareth Young. EGG has since grown into an establishment well known for it's award winning Editing, Sound and VFX departments, cementing our stature as one of Ireland’s leading facilities.

EGG is a founder member of the VFX Association of Ireland and we have extensive experience of working with productions accessing S481 Tax Incentives delivering projects to all the major Irish, UK and US broadcasters, as well as for audiences worldwide.

EGG Post Production’s primary focus is TV Drama, Feature Film and Documentary, and our team has centuries of experience in delivering award winning post production.

EGG VFX is a Dublin based Visual Effects company that was an IFTA Winner in 2023 & BAFTA Nominee in 2022.

In the last year we have delivered shots for Bad Sisters (Apple TV), Evil Dead Rise (Warner), The Woman King (Sony) and Good Omens (Amazon).

Our 50- person team has just delivered 750 shots for World On Fire (BBC) shot on greenscreen in a tyre factory Northern Ireland and set mainly in North Africa.

The Woman King- Sony

May 2022 - August 2022

Released by Sony Pictures Entertainment in October 2022, the EGG VFX team were delighted to work with Milk Visual Effects on the blockbuster and box office hit, The Woman King. With a strong female cast lead by Oscar-winner Viola Davis, The Woman King, a historical drama, tells the intriguing story of how General Nanisca (Davis) saved the 19th century African kingdom of Dahomey with an all-female warrior unit known as the Agojie. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Woman King had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022 in September and it was released in theatres in UK and Ireland on 4th October 2022. The EGG VFX team, Supervisor Donal Nolan, Lead, Marc Buckley, and a 52 strong team artists, delivered 161 comps and 323 roto, clean up paint shots over 14 weeks. Good Omens 2- Amazon Prime

July 2022 - March 2023

After a massively successful first season, Egg VFX was utterly thrilled to be given the opportunity to work on the titilating second season of Good Omens. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted in season 1, this season the duo is getting back to easy living among mortals in London's Soho... for now, that is. Our talented team in our Dun Laoghaire office once again showed off their unmatched skills in delivering mesmerising VFX. This team of 30 artist worked exceptionally hard and as a direct result we were able to deliver 280 comp shots spanning from June 2022 - April 2023. Here at Egg VFX fostering and maintaining client relations is a cornerstone of our work ethic. We were elated to be told by Amazon Studios that they wanted us to be a part of the second season of Good Omens, and we cannot wait to see what comes next around the corner.

World On Fire- Series 2- BBC

January 2023 - May 2023

The compelling narrative of World on Fire follows the story of RAF pilots on a mission to destroy the German bombers skulking the skies of Manchester juxtaposing the rescue operations below. It's a story of the ordinary folk among the unordinary showing the true reality of war. This fantastic piece of television was commissioned by the BBC and produced by Mammoth Screen. We have a stellar VFX team who were able to all unite to deliver an incredible 750 breathtaking VFX shots in an impressive time frame of just 5 months between January and May of 2023. Our talented team of VFX supervisors were able to jet off to the stunning landscapes of Wadi Rum, Jordan in 2022. There, they were able to carry out a plate shoot and give the production team invaluable in-person help to make sure their shots would be meticulously done to ensure the seamless transition from the offline phase of editing to VFX.

Intergalactic- Sky

May 2020 - August 2020

EGG VFX are delighted to announce the release of the much- anticipated Sky Original series Intergalactic. Despite the challenges of two COVID lockdowns, we supported Milk Visual Effects in London, taking advantage of EGG’s cutting edge and remote enabled infrastructure. EGG VFX's team of 12 artists, led by Aled Rhys Jones completed comp, cleanup and roto across 400 shot tasks in less than 27 weeks, and had a constructive part in look dev for a handful of sequences. We are extremely proud of all the work done by the whole team through the difficult circumstances of a worldwide pandemic. A BAFTA nomination for EGG VFX - kudos to the team lead by Aled Rhys Jones and including Ricardo Rodriguez Gambini, Marc Buckley, Eoin Mahon, Gráinne Hegarty, Andrius Jurkevicius, Warwick Campbell, Sam Salek, Kristi O'Connor, Dario Bonito, Dario Pedretti, Alexandra Foy, Tommaso Lunardi & Melis Alpas and congrats also to Irish producers Paula Heffernan and Element Pictures Group
