Basic Info

Hibernian Marine Systems Limited is a marine consulting firm founded in 2021. The company supports government and state bodies, universities and research institutes, and private industry, providing solutions to opportunities and challenges in the marine space.

The ambition for the company is to provide long term sustainable solutions that help address challenges to marine systems and the oceans, including contributing to national, European and global Climate Action Plans, contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the development of offshore renewable energy (ORE) systems.

Ocean and Marine professional services include the following

Ocean circulation and hydrodynamic modelling

Ocean Forecasting and prediction – hindcasting and reanalysis for metocean

Ocean process studies

Metocean and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) – including marine

physical processes, biological and chemical processes

Storm surge prediction for estuary and coastal flooding and inundation

Climate change studies: impacts and scenarios

Ocean pollution modelling – chemical fate, transport and cycling; plastics;

chemicals of emerging concern (CECs); uptake and exchange in ecosystems;

ocean carbon sequestration and ocean acidification; impacts of ocean

aquaculture;

Water quality – thermal and effluent discharges: dispersion and impact
