ICS Furniture was founded in 1972. The company has gradually built the business into a unique provider of turnkey services for furniture and contract joinery. The company is based in his home village of Dromod, Co Leitrim, a Tidy Towns-winning fishing village beside Loughs Bofin and Boderg, which are threaded by the River Shannon. Many members of the workforce he hired are still working with the company over forty years later. When he retired, his son Gavin took over as Managing Director. With four decades of experience, the ICS team have a deep understanding of everything to do with furnishing churches and cathedrals: the variety of spaces and settings, the requirements, the sensitivities, the need to harmonise with widely varied architectural settings and details, use of the right materials, the manufacturing process, transport, installation, and so on.
